João Garcia Pulido is an economist, mathematician, business leader and international energy consultant with more than 30 years of experience across the oil, gas and nuclear sectors.

After a successful career as CEO and board member of major energy companies operating across Europe, Africa and Latin America, he founded a technical and environmental consulting group that works with all the major players in the global oil & gas industry.

From the early stages of the energy transition, João Paulo recognized the growing gap between political ambition and technical feasibility. His deep understanding of the challenges involved in delivering energy security, economic growth and environmental responsibility led him to a decisive conclusion: nuclear energy is not just an option — it is a necessity.

Today, as a vocal advocate for science-based policies and pragmatic solutions, he brings to this book his own personal “transition” — from fossil fuels to nuclear — guided by a firm belief that the world must embrace facts over fear if it wants to ensure a sustainable future for the planet.
